Infographics
Our first project for this year will be all about reading infographics and creating our own! Part 1: What is an infographic? We looked at examples of infographics and broke down the word to define "info" and "graphic". We came to the conclusion that, put simply, an infographic is information displayed through pictures. Click here to see some of the example infographics we looked at! Part 2: Brainstorming and researching our infographics To make an infographic, you can't just start putting pictures together all willy-nilly! Today we will begin the creation process by gathering data for our infographics. Click here to access Search Engines Part 3: Making our infographics Now we will start to organize our data and make our visuals! First, let's talk and figure out what kind of infographics makes sense. Will it be a timeline? A graph? A web? A spread? Once you know, it's time for some graphic design! |
Magazine Ads
We are going to start investigating print ads and thinking about the kinds of ads we might want to include in our magazines this year!
Part 1: Why do we advertise? What makes ads and slogans stand out? Today, we'll look at some advertisements and talk about what we notice. Part 2: Brainstorm!
What kinds of products and services might be advertised in your magazine? Part 3: Draft Using the draft sheet and your brainstorm notes, sketch out a draft of what your magazine advertisement could look like. Part 4: Make your ad! Log into Canva ([email protected]) and start putting your ad together! When you have finished and shown it to me, please email me your ad so I can print it for your magazine. |
